Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Air-Conditioning Europe, Ltd. (MHIAE) has announced the launch of two new Hydrolution EZY air-to-water heat pump models, further expanding its range of sustainable, high-efficiency heating solutions for Europe’s residential sector. The latest additions to the Hydrolution EZY line are monobloc systems operating on R290 (propane) – a natural refrigerant with a low GWP and excellent thermodynamic performance.

Developed in response to tightening European environmental legislation, the new units provide a future-proof alternative to fossil fuel boilers, capable of delivering heating, cooling, and domestic hot water with reduced carbon emissions.

Available in 6kW (Model no. FDCW60VNX-P) and 7.1kW (Model no. FDCW71VNX-P) capacities, the new Hydrolution EZY models have been designed to suit a broad range of homes. The all-black finish, highlighted by a silver vertical accent, delivers a sleek appearance while ingeniously concealing the fan from side views for a cleaner look.

High-temperature performance and all-weather reliability

Thanks to R290’s properties, the new Hydrolution EZY models can achieve flow temperatures of up to 75°C, maintaining reliable performance across ambient conditions ranging from -25°C to +43°C. This enables stable operation for both heating and hot water production, even in colder regions, without the need for backup heating sources.

Installation is simple and flexible, with no refrigerant connection to indoor unit, simply two water pipes and an electrical connection to the outdoor unit required, minimising on-site work and commissioning time.

Low-noise operation and built-in safety

Both new models are engineered for quiet performance, with the 6kW unit (Model no. FDCW60VNX-P) producing a sound pressure level of 34dB(A)[1] at maximum capacity. A dedicated quiet mode further reduces operational sound levels, supporting compliance with local noise regulations in dense residential environments.

For enhanced safety, the Hydrolution EZY units feature a built-in refrigerant leak detection sensor. In the unlikely event of a leak, the unit automatically stops operation and activates a fan to disperse any escaped refrigerant safely.

Sustainability and simplicity combined

The launch of these new R290 models reinforces MHIAE’s commitment to supporting Europe’s transition toward low-carbon, energy-efficient heating solutions. Combining sustainability, reliability, and ease of installation, the Hydrolution EZY range offers specifiers and installers a straightforward route to compliance and future readiness.

Mission Net Zero

In October 2021, MHI Group, announced “MISSION NET ZERO” – a declaration of the company’s aims to cut its Groupwide CO2 emissions to net zero by 2040. This effort mainly focuses on reducing CO2 emissions from production activities at the group’s own facilities and reducing CO2 emissions at customer sites using MHI Group products. The new Hydrolution EZY series represents a significant step towards achieving carbon neutrality across Europe, aligning with MISSION NET ZERO.

MHIAE is committed to building on the advanced technology and vast experience of its parent company to deliver innovative, integrated solutions that will help realise a carbon neutral world, improve the quality of life, and ensure a safer world. https://mhiae.com/
